Bonnie Lou Reed

Bonnie Lou Reed, 63, of Johnson City, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and a daughter of the late Benzo and Grace Gregg Bruner. She was a member of McKinley Bible Church and also attended the Tabernacle of the Living God. Throughout her long illness, Mrs. Reed was always there to talk with her friends. Despite her struggles, she always kept a smile on her face, and was a blessing to her friends and family. She was always there to help others. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin Bruner. Survivors include: her husband, Bill Reed, of the home; three daughters, Sheila Woodson, of Jonesborough, and Melissa Casey and Sherry Slawson, both of Johnson City; one son, Travis Reed, of Seymour, TN; one brother, Vestal Bruner, of Jonesborough; two sisters, Jerushia Bowser and Nellie Dykes, both of Jonesborough; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Bonnie Lou Reed will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Lenny Smith and Pastor Don Williams will officiate. Pallbearers will be: Bill Reed, Gary Burnett, Willie McCurry, Jamie Payne, John Phillips, Tony Royston, and Tommy Cox. Following the funeral service, family and friends will proceed to the McKinley Bible Church Cemetery for graveside services. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday at Morris-Baker.
