Brenda Ann Holmes

Brenda Ann Holmes, 62, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center. Brenda was born in Shiloh Valley, IL to the late Bobbie Lee and Eleanor Fay Enman Bicknell. Brenda was of the Christian faith. She was a member of First United Methodist Church since childhood, and later attended Calvary Church. Brenda loved to work with children. For many years she was a caretaker and director of daycare facilities. She taught at Mother Goose Day School and was a director at Sundale Preschool and Boones Creek Child Care Center. She loved to cook and hosted every holiday and family get-together. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Bicknell. Survivors include: her husband of 27 years, Steve Holmes; one daughter, Chelsea Holmes; one son, Ashley Martin, of Austin, TX; and one brother, Bob Bicknell and his wife Julie. The family of Brenda Holmes will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Morris-Baker. The funeral will follow at 8:00 PM. A committal service will be held Friday at 10:00 AM at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Please meet at Morris-Baker by 9:45 AM to go in procession. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter, 3411 N. Roan St., Johnson City, TN 37601.
