Bruce William Owens

Bruce William 'Quasar'? Owens, Jr. 55, 130 Ben Jenkins Road, Gray, died Saturday, May 30, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Owens was a Sullivan County native and had lived most of his life in Washington County. He was a son of the late Bruce William Owens, Sr. and Ruth Greer Owens and was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Owens. Mr. Owens was a former employee of TPI in Gray. He was a member of Boones Creek Baptist Church and the Twenty-niners Club. Survivors include his wife, Diane Owens of the home; two daughters, Melinda G. Lewis and her husband, Mike, Limestone, Michelle Arnold, of the home; seven granddaughters; one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and many friends. A funeral service for Mr. Owens will be conducted at 8 pm Tuesday, June 2, 2009 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Brother Cecil Kern will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 10 am Wednesday at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 am and travel in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Eric Harvey, Sammy Martin, Jeremy Elliott, Alan Fish, Tony Dye and Dennis Vermillion, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Denny Hensley, Cleve Gilliam and Phillip 'Papaw'? Trammell. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
