Buddy Lee Bowman, 75, Johnson City, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Bowman was a native and life long resident of Washington County and the son of the late Pearline Bowman. He was a U. S. Army veteran. Mr. Bowman was formerly employed as a butcher for Giant Foods but retired as a security guard with Eastman Chemical Company. He could often be found working on his computer or reading. He loved his triplet grandsons and had a special bond with his special puppy dog, Maddie. In addition to his mother, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his step-father, Jim Rush, and his infant daughter, Melinda Bowman. Survivors include: his wife, Violet Bowman of the home; daughter, Lisa Tipton Nickels, and her husband Travis, of Johnson City; son, Jesse Bowman of Johnson City, triplet grandsons, Thomas, Michael, and Christopher Tipton, all of Johnson City; step-grandchildren, Elijah, Gideon, and Maggie Nickels, of Church Hill; sister, Ruby Perry of Johnson City; special nephew, Jimbo Ginley of Johnson City; special friends, Sue Johnson of Johnson City and Jim Bowlin of Hiltons, VA; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Buddy Bowman will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Ginley officiating. Pallbearers will be: Thomas, Michael, and Christopher Tipton, Travis Nickels, Jimbo Ginley, and Keith Tipton. Committal services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am Monday for those services.
