Byron Scott Barnes, 57, of Johnson City passed away Tuesday May 6, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. Scott was a native of Washington County and son of Billy B. Barnes and Doris Lewis Barnes. He was the owner and operator of Barnes Exterminating Company. He was a Graduate of Daniel Boone High School and ETSU. He was a member of the New Bethel Presbyterian Church. He was an avid supporter of the Appalachian Fair and the Gray Community where he grew up . Scott was a very generous man. His generosity extended to his family, local schools, churches, and community organizations in the tri-cites area. He served two terms on the State of Tennessee Pest Control Board. He is currently serving on the Board of Hands On! Museum. Scott loved politics, especially the Democratic party, Andy Griffith and collecting autographs. Most of all, he loved God, his family and people. Survivors include: father, Billy B. Barnes; mother, Doris Lewis Barnes; wife, Mary Lynn Barnes; son, Byron F. Barnes; daughter, Maria B. Barnes; brother, Tony Barnes and wife Stephanie; two sisters, Debbie Watkins and husband Lee, and Donna Saylor and husband Mike; nephews, Elliott Cox, Brad Barnes and Jack White; nieces, Brittany Huff, Maryl Greene, Karisa White, Jana White and Alie White; several aunts, uncles, family and friends.
