Carl Edwin Randolph

Carl Edwin Randolph, age 71, of 417 West College Street, Jonesborough, died Thursday, March 25, 2010, in the Johnson City Medical Center, following a brief illness. Mr. Randolph was born on May 30, 1938, in Jacksonville, FL, and was a life-long resident of Jonesborough, TN. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Suzie and Dan Boles and his sister Carol Laws. Mr. Randolph was a 1955 graduate of Jonesboro High School and attended Baylor University and East Tennessee State University. He served in the United States Air Force, part of the time at the National Security Agency in Bethesda, MD. He enjoyed a number of sports activities and was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing in the Senior Golf League in this area. Mr. Randolph was in the banking industry for a number of years and was involved in property and real estate development. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janice Pitts Randolph. Other surviving family members include his daughter, Teigha Randolph, M.D., and her husband, Tom Bailey; three grandchildren, Thomas, Todd, and Teigha Beth all of Kinston, NC; and his brother, Bobby Randolph, wife Jeanette, and nephew Allen of Melbourne, FL. Many beloved nieces and nephews and other family members also survive. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, at Morris Baker Funeral Home, Johnson City, followed by a memorial celebration at 6:00 p.m. to be conducted by Mr. Steve Hill, Rev. David Miller, and Rev. Jeremy Dykes. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 29, at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Jonesborough, TN. Pallbearers will be Jack Pitts, Mike Pitts, Bill Toohey, Tom Bailey, Arthur Reid, and Steve Loyd, M.D. The family and friends will meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Gideons International, State of Tennessee, Johnson City South Camp, P.O. Box 372, Mountain Home, TN 37684, or to the Johnson City North Camp, P.O. Box 3695, Carroll Reece Station, Johnson City, TN 37602, or to a favorite charitable organization. .
