Carl 'Cotton' Miller, 90, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Johnson City Medical Center. Carl was a life-long resident of Washington County. He worked in freight transportation for much of his life and was a member of Johnson City Baptist Temple. He loved to fish, bowl, and coach tee-ball whenever there wasnt a Johnson City Cardinals game to be watched. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ethel Miller; his wife, JoAnne Greene Miller; five brothers, Paul Miller, John D. Miller, Jim Miller, Maynard Miller, and Roy Miller; four sisters, Stella Davis, Kate Sauls, Kathleen Kinley, and Edith Dearstone. Survivors include: five daughters, Ella Elam, Brenda Privette, Mary (John) Ault, Teresa Miller, and Marsha (Gary) Johnson; one brother, R.C. (Bonnie) Miller; one sister, Ruby Christian; ten grandchildren, including Joshua Miller, Ashley Wilson, Buddy Miller, Jessica Elam, Greg Privette, Brian Privette, and Larry Privette. Jr.; as well as eighteen great grandchildren. The family of Carl Miller will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow on December 13, 2017 with Carl Bowman officiating. Friends and Family are asked to meet by 1:45 PM at McCarty Cemetery in Telford, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be: Greg Privette, Brian Privette, Larry Privette, Jr., Joshua Miller, Buddy Miller, and Austin Elam. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
