Mrs. Carol Marie Litteral Rice, 70, 602 Hart Avenue, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord with her family by her side on Thursday August 27, 2009. Mrs. Rice was a native of Pike County, Kentucky who had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Robena Mae Litteral. In addition to her parents her husband, Floyd Rice, Sr. in 1995; one sister, Janie Brown, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Rice was a homemaker and a member of the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Sharon Dayton of the home; one son, Floyd Rice, Jr. and his wife Linda of Jonesborough; two sisters, Katy Clark and her husband Bill and Rosie Mizzell and her husband Fed; one brother, Norman Litteral and his wife Jenky; three granddaughters, Tonya Tipton and her husband Brian of Gray, Lindsay Rice and Leslie Horton both of Erwin; five great grandchildren, Ashlee Collins, Ethan Tipton, Gavin Tipton, Cassie Horton and Ryan Peters; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to friend and caregiver Ivy Tester of Medical Center Hospice. The funeral service for Mrs. Carole Marie Litteral Rice will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday August 29, 2009 in the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Paul Crowe will officiate. The committal service will follow in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday August 28, 2009 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home.
