Carolyn Faye Debord Smith

Carolyn Faye DeBord Smith, age 75, Kingsport, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013. She was a native of Johnson City who had lived most of her life in Kingsport. She was the daughter of the late Almer and Lucille DeBord. In addition to her parents two brothers, Harold and Glenn DeBord also preceded her in death. She was a 1957 graduate of Science Hill High School and a member of Central Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Robert Smith, Sr.; her children, Barbara Taylor, Robert Smith, Jr., Belinda Smith, and Becky Smith; her grandchildren, Jordan Taylor, Aaron Smith, Gabriel Taylor, Anthony Smith, and Colleen Allard- Smith; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service for Carolyn Faye DeBord Smith will be conducted at 7 PM Monday, November 25, 2013 at Central Church of Christ, Johnson City. Tim Hall, Minister will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Robert Smith, Sr., Robert Smith, Jr., Judge Robert Cupp, Bob Sams, Joseph Taylor, Wayne Steenberg and John Mashburn. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:15 AM Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday at Central Church of Christ prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Central Church of Christ Library, 2722 E.
