Carolyn Sue Copas Nickles, age 76, of Johnson City died Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton.
Carolyn was born on October 29, 1942 in Johnson City to the late Horace Copas and Dansford Lundsford Copas. She was a homemaker and she raised six children. Her family will always remember her enthusiasm for attending yard sales.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Nickles; two sisters; and three brothers.
She is survived by her children, Ricky (Sandy) Nickles, Tina Nickles, Bobby Joe (Renee) Nickles, Brian (Teresa) Nickles, Tiffany Nickles and J.R. Christenson, and Candy Cordova and Larry White; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, George (Sherry) Copas, David (Barbara) Copas, Billy Joe Copas, Leroy (Shirley) Brown; and many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn’s family will receive friends on Monday, August 5, 2019, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Washington County Memory Gardens. Please meet at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m.
