Carrick Edward Oldham Hopkins, baby son of Walter E. Hopkins and wife Patricia C. 'Tish' Oldham of Johnson City, Tennessee, joined his family in heaven Thursday, August 30, 2007, during the sixth month of pregnancy. A beautiful baby, a gift from God, who will be loved always, Carrick deeply touched his family, impacting our hearts, our lives, and our actions for the better from here forward. Carricks surviving family includes big sister, Julia Claire Oldham Hopkins; great-grandmother Mrs. Jackson (Doris) Trethaway, Johnson City; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Oldham III, Johnson City, and Mrs. Earl (Hortensia) Hopkins, Jonesborough; great aunt and uncles Mr. and Mrs. Marion J. Young, Greenville, South Carolina, Jackson Trethaway, Johnson City; aunts and uncles Mr. and Mrs. Stephen T. Vargo and children Charlie and Bennett, Johnson City, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Oldham IV and children Patrick and Anna Katharine, Brentwood, Tennessee; cousins Mr. and Mrs. John Milton Martin III, Jackson, Mississippi; as well as numerous Hopkins relatives in California, Hawaii, and Tennessee. A brief service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, September 8, 2007, in the main sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, Johnson City, Tennessee . Private graveside services will follow.
