Chancey Franklin Dugger, 85, 1010 Beechwood Drive, Johnson City, died Wednesday March 12, 2008 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Dugger was a native of Butler who had lived in Johnson City for most of his life. He was the son of the late Robert Newton and Nancy Ellen Sheets Dugger. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Rita Athene Murr Dugger; five brothers; four sisters; one grandson, Robert Anthony Dugger; three great grandsons, Christopher Lee Lawson, Jacob Dugger and Joshua Dugger. He was a Diesel Mechanic. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran having recieved three purple hearts. Mr. Dugger was a member of the Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Ella Pearl Dugger Donati Beam and her husband Glen, of Johnson City; one son, Robert Dean and his wife Phyllis Ward Dugger, of North Carolina; two sisters, Gladys Dunn, of Blountville and Lilly Rogers, of Midway; three sisters-in-laws, Ruth Dugger, of Johnson City, Luella Lowe, of Jonesborough and Emma Sue Pate Payne, of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Jeffery Good and his wife Tonya, of North Carolina, Jennifer Dawn Donati Rhoton, of Johnson City, Wesley Dean Dugger and his wife Robin, of North Carolina, Carl Franklin Dugger, of North Carolina, Cory Lee Dugger, North Carolina and Terry Beam and his wife JoAnn, of Johnson City; twelve great grandchildren, Beverly Painter and her husband Jeremiah, of Limestone, Brittany Lawson, of North Carolina, Dustin Geoffrey Donati, Jessica Beam, of Johnson City, Austin Beam, of Johnson City, Whitney Lewis, of Johnson City; Brandie Dugger, of North Carolina, Brittany Dugger, of North Carolina, Robert Dugger, of North Carolina, Joseph Dugger, of Tennessee, Brianna Dugger, of Johnson City and Jolene Dugger, of Johnson City; two great great grandchildren, Jaden Xander Crawford, of Tennessee and Shianne Elizabeth Painter, of Limestone; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the VA Medical Center, Amedisys Home Health Melissa, Janie and Shannon. The EMS personnel, Johnson City Medical Center, Tess and Roger on the 2100 unit, Blake in the Trauma unit and all of the other medical staff who helped with the care of our father. 'We appreciate all that you have done for our family.'?The funeral service for Chancey Franklin Dugger will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday March 15, 2008 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Mike Dickson and Pastor Lester Perkins will officiate. The committal service will follow in the McCarty Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Good, Jeremiah Painter, Denny Dugger, Corey Dugger, Floyd Saylor. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Post # 3382 and the Tennessee National Guard of Kingsport. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Friday. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contribution be made to 1010 Beechwood Drive, Johnson City, TN 37604
