In memory and in sorrow, Charles (Butch) Thomson, 73, of Jonesborough Tenn., passed away October 14, 2016 after a long struggle with illness. He was a good son, father and brother, who embraced the Lord and is now home in the arms of his Redemptive Savior. Born in Jersey City, N.J. to Charles and Nancy (nee Esposito), he resided in New Jersey for the majority of his lifetime and chose beautiful Jonesborough Tenn. to retire to for his latter years. He was an Army Vet in the Vietnam War who was proud to serve and went on to work for the Ford Motor Company till his retirement. For those who knew him, he was generous, full of compassion, a great sense of humor, a lover of music and who was a fighter who struggled daily with his illness but always keeping his Faith which helped him endure his personal struggles, with strength. Surviving are his son Patrick Thomson, sister Nancy Thomson Figueroa, brother in law Gilbert Figueroa, nephew Jay Nejad, niece and godchild Alexandra Figueroa. Close friends Joy and Rick Ward who reside in Tenn. and also many on line media friends to whom he endeared himself to by sharing his personal interests and stories. He remains loved and missed by many whom he cherished throughout his lifetime. Funeral arrangements were made with Morris Baker Funeral Home and he was laid to rest in Mountain Home National Veterans Cemetery in Johnson City, Tennessee with all the respect and honor bestowed on one who served his Country loyally.
