Charles Hagy, 87, of 211 9th Street Extension in Watauga, TN died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Hagy was a native of Abingdon, VA. and had lived in Watauga for 60 years. He was a son of the late William Franklin and Bertie Lee Dye Hagy. Mr. Hagy was a former Mayor and City Commissioner in the City of Watauga .He was the owner and operator of the Hagys Grocery Store in Watauga. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II serving in the Pacific. Mr. Hagy was also a member of the Church of the Living Savior in Watauga. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: his wife, Ann Camper Hagy in 2004; an infant daughter, Juanita Carol Hagy; and a brother, W.F. Hagy. Survivors include: two sons, Charles Edgar Hagy ,Jr., Christopher Lynn Hagy and special friend Rebecca Ray, all of Watauga; three grandsons, Nathan Hagy of Milligan, Christopher Daniel Hagy of Watauga, and Robert Hagy of Greeneville, TN.; one sister, Rosa Lee Grubb of Abingdon, VA; one brother, Fred Hagy of Abingdon, VA; several nieces and nephews. The family of Charles Hagy will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Morris-Baker South Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM Tuesday in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Melvin Ferrell will officiate. The committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Everyone will meet at Morris-Baker at 9:30 AM Wednesday to go to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be sons and grandsons. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by the Boone Dam VFW and soldiers of the Tennessee National Guard. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Church of the Living Savior Building Fund, P.O.
