Charles Lee 'Papaw'? Miller, 81, of Johnson City, died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Miller was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and the son of the late J. M. and Elsie Hampton Miller. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Miller was a U. S. Army veteran. He retired from the Johnson City Police Department after decades of service as an officer. In addition to his parents, his wife, Rosemary Godsey Miller, and two daughters, Vickie Carmichael and Phyllis Kent, also preceded him in death. Mr. Miller is survived by: one son, Charles Miller; two brothers, Wayne Miller, and his wife Susan, of Johnson City and Allen Miller, of Ohio; two sisters, Elma Flaugherty, of Gray, and Kimberly Miller, of Jonesborough; and five grandchildren, Heather Miller and Sarah Miller, of the home, Kevin Ford, of Johnson City, Justin Davis, of Johnson City, and Kenny Carmichael, of Jonesborough. He is also survived by 'his babies'? '? his six great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Brandon Ford, Aiden Ford, Lillian Miller, Katara Cutshaw, and Alexis Summie. The family extends a special thanks to Heather Miller, who was there in sickness and in health for her grandfather. He appreciated her care and she is deeply loved.
