Charles Merle Bowles

Charles Merle Bowles, 65, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Bowles was a native of Titusville, PA and had lived in Johnson City for the past several years. He was a son of the late Merle and Helena Marie Laskey Bowles. Mr. Bowles was retired from the Modern Drop Forge Company in Piney Flats. Survivors include his wife, Doris Bowles, of the home; five sons, Charles Gully, Huntsville, AL, Keith Bowles, Charlotte, NC, Kevin Bowles, Johnson City, Kris Bowles, Greensboro, NC and Kobi Bowles of the home; one daughter, Sharlee Bowles of the home; three step-sons, Jimmy Stewart, Johnson City, Scotty Stewart, Gray and Jeffrey Stewart, Johnson City; one step-daughter, Sherry Good, Gray; grandchildren, Rodney Bowles, Joey Bowles, Kristofer Bowles, Kody Bowles and Keeley Laster; twenty two step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren and one sister, Joann Anderson, PA. A funeral service for Mr. Bowles will be conducted at 8 pm Friday, May 22, 2009 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
