Charlie Arbie Boone

Charlie Arbie Boone, 89, began lifes earthly journey April 27, 1919 in Yancey County, North Carolina. He was the firstborn of Arthur and Maggie Robinson Boone. His heavenly journey began on July 15, 2008 at his home. For many years he lived at 1201 North Street, Johnson City, Tennessee with his wife of 64 years, Nellie Maril Hoilman Boone. God blessed their marriage with four children, Freddie Lee Boone of Elizabethton, Clara Davis of Gray, Shirley Britt of Jonesborough, Tommy Wayne Boone who God called home in 1975. He also leaves behind two sons-in-law Eddie Britt and Tommy Davis. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was retired from the Johnson City Public Works street department. Called home before him were his parents, three brothers, Calvin, A.Z., Kester and a sister, Olivee. Arbie loved his family, fishing, hunting and working in his garden. There was nothing more important than going to church and serving God. He shared lifes journey with a loving family of five brothers and four sisters. Clinton Boone of Maryland, Paul Boone of South Carolina, Arzella Robinson, Ellen Elliott and Mary Lou Jarrett all of North Carolina. His grandchildren will remember if they had a need thy could count on Grandpa to pray. The Lord heard and answered many prayers on their behalf. Scott Davis and wife Pam, Johnathan Boone and wife Denna, Steven Davis and wife Svetlana, Crystal Gentry and husband Dwight, Jennifer Phillips and husband Wayne, Tommy Boone, Michael Paul Boone, James Britt and wife Lane. Arbie leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember his courage as he faced lifes ballets with a positive attitude and a smile. He leaves behind great-grandchildren who will honor his memory as they become young men and women who were influenced by a Christian grandfather. Great grandchildren, Rachel, Brandon, Jared, Christian, Anna, Brooklynn, Alex, Caleb, Joshua, Benjamin and Davis. We will gather for visitation, Thursday, July 17, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ where he attended as a faithful member for many years. We will join with his family, friends and Pastor Donny Reagan on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. for our earthly farewells and celebrate as he begins his heavenly journey at the church. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens following the funeral service. Active Pallbearers will be: grandsons and sons-in-law.
