Charlie Campbell, Jr “Junior”, 71, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at his home.
He was born November 3, 1953, at home to the late Charlie Campbell, Sr and Renia (Bennett) Campbell. Those who knew our dad would say he’s the greatest man they have ever known. I would have to agree because he was the absolute best. He was simple, kind, loving, down to earth, and the most patient man I’ve ever seen. He loved tinkering and piddling with anything from weed eaters and lawnmowers to cars and trucks. He always helped anyone who asked and never expected anything in return. He meant the world to so many people. He was taken too soon, and we’re all left with our hearts completely shattered. He loved watching his TV shows and was a Sci-fi movie lover from way back. Even though he was a man of few words you felt his love from his hugs, kisses, and just the look in his eyes when he looked at you. He was one of a kind and this world will never be the same without him in it.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Lee Campbell and Billy Ray Campbell; one grandson, Aiden Campbell; and his little dog, Lulu.
He is survived by two daughters, Tina (Rod) Fisher of Jonesborough and Amy (Brian) Cox of Elizabethton; two sons, Christopher Campbell of Elizabethton and Jeremy Campbell of Unicoi; Buddy to Cory (Stacie) Anderson of Elizabethton); grandkids, Isaac, Benjamin and Sarah Fisher, Elijah and Briana Cox, Meranda, Nevaeh, CJ, Cameron, and Caleb Campbell, Kaysen and Eleanor Anderson; one great-granddaughter, Lilliana Cox; seven sisters, Kathy Inks of Johnson City, Ruth (Dewey) Lichtenstine of Johnson City, Betty (Danny) Turbyfill of Johnson City, Teresa (Donnie) Turbyfill of Johnson City, Faye (Denver) Clawson of Roan Mountain, Barbara (Stanley) Clawson of Roan Mountain, and Linda (Dwight) Clawson of Hampton; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
Junior’s family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home.
