Miss Charlie F. Culver, 84, of Johnson City, died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Appalachian Christian Village. She was a native of Asheville, NC, daughter of the late Charles B. and Frankie V. Wykle Culver. Charlie was a graduate of Steed College and was a retired employee of USF&G Insurance Company. She started as a secretary and rose to be one of the first women adjustors for the company. Charlie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, three sisters, Jeanne Culver Moore, Mary Scott Culver McCormick and Eunice Maxwell Culver and one brother, William Oxford Culver preceded her in death. Survivors include: her niece, Eunice M. Tenent of Memphis; several great nieces and a great nephew; a special friend, Clara Bragg of Kingsport. A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, March 25, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the Monte Vista Memorial Park, under the direction of Rev. Don Muncie. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm at the Morris - Baker Funeral Home.
