Chester A. Reed

Chester A. Reed, 87, of Johnson City died Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Lakebridge Nursing Home. He was a native of Washington County, son of the late James Byrd and Sue Elizabeth Decker Reed.

Chester was a retired (1987) firefighter for Johnson City.

He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.

Chester loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his special grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, several brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Brothers; Curtis, Dana, John, Dennis Clark, Bill, J. B., Harry and an infant brother, Buster. Sisters; Eva Cann, Madeline Curran, Glenna Miller and Frances Incosky.

Those left to cherish his memory; his wife of 58 years, Betty Jo Smith Reed of the home; two sons, Steve Reed and Ben Reed; two beloved grandchildren, Hunter Reed and Savannah Reed; several nieces and nephews.

There will be a private graveside service conducted on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Monte Vista Memorial Park under the direction of Pastor Tony Hoss. Honorary pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
