Christine Hodges Jenkins

Christine Hodges Jenkins, age 93, passed away Saturday May 16, 2015 at Life Care Center of Gray. Mrs. Jenkins was born in Sullivan County at her home place May 23, 1921 and was a daughter of the late Henry Homer Hodges and Ina Mae Hodges. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by: her husband, William A. Jenkins, her son, William Eddie Jenkins, brothers, J.R., Justin, and Homer Hodges, and one sister, Joy Myers. Mrs. Jenkins was a graduate of Boones Creek High School. She was a member of New Bethel Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: brother, Graham Hodges, and his wife Peggy; daughters, Barbara Carver, Carolyn Oaks, and her husband Gene, Gail Sherfey, and her husband Gene, Kathy Denton Jayne, and her husband Larry; grandchildren, Myra, Paula, Kathy, Kim, Gina, Melissa, Jason, Beth, and Sarah; and all of the great grandchildren she loved and adored including several nieces and nephews. The family of Christine Hodges Jenkins will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Tuesday May 19, 2015 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Following the visitation, family and friends will proceed to East Tennessee Cemetery, Blountville, for graveside services. Pastor Rick Keller will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the Crumley House, 300 Urbana Road, Limestone, TN 37681.
