Christine J. Brandon of 508 Chapman Street, Johnson City died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Carter County and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Roby Henry Julian and Cordelia Wright Julian. Mrs. Brandon was a retired waitress from the Peerless Restaurant with almost thirty years of service. She was a member of the Indian Ridge Free Will Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Leonard Brandon in 2003; one brother, Sterling Julian; and two sisters, Estella Cooper and Rowena Thornton. Survivors include: two daughters, Dorothy Sue LaFollette Barnett McGowen of Johnson City, and Linda L. and her husband William C. Monaghan, Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA; two sons, Howard Wayne and his wife Darlene Brandon of Clarksville, TN and Gary Dean and his wife Karen Brandon of Johnson City; eleven grandchildren, Kenneth Wayne Barnett Jr, Bradley Spencer Barnett, Tyree Michelle Thornton, William Monaghan III, Timothy Monaghan, Shanna Hammons, David Matzner, Jerry Brandon, James Brandon, Dereck Brandon, and Deanna Brandon; twelve great grandchildren also survive. A Celebration of the Life of Christine Brandon will be conducted at 11 AM Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Family members and friends will share thoughts and memories. The interment will follow in the National Cemetery. There will be no public visitation or funeral service.
