Christine Piper

Christine Nicholson Piper (Chris), 78 of Johnson City, TN went home to Jesus on August 24th, 2024. 

Born May 8, 1946, Christine was adopted by Edward and Alberta Nicholson and grew up in Windsor, CT. Spending periods of her life in Preston, CT, Ballston Spa, NY and Asheville, NC, Chris had a fondness for sheep and dedicated her later years as a foster mother to dozens of children. 

Chris is preceded in death by her husband David of over 50 years, her parents and brothers Russell Simoneau and Ronald Simoneau. Chris is survived by her sisters, Pamela Papp (Dave), Sandra (Sandy) Ginter and Agnes Cuzio, five children Sean (Michelle), Scott (Diane), Keith (Jennifer), Bethany and Dawn, as well as grandchildren Jayden (Logan), Rowan, Hannah, Jackson, Elijah, Brooke, Seth, Kyle and Chad.

Many know that Christine was especially close to her granddaughter Jayden. Over this past year, Jayden lovingly, with no expectation of return, cared for many of her Nana’s needs, from running errands, to doing laundry, to administering intimate personal care. Christine was so excited for the next family celebration, the union of Jayden with her future grandson Logan in May 2025.
