Christine R. Garland

Christine R. Garland, 77, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at her residence. Christine was born in Greeneville to the late Charlie and Hazel Bowman. She attended Grace of God Church in Johnson City. Christine loved her church, crocheting, family, grandbabies, gardening, fishing, and her friends at Wal-Mart on Browns Mill Road. In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by: her husband, Earl Garland; one son, Ronnie Garland; one great grandbaby, Autumn Curtis, on February 7, 2017; two brothers, Sonny Franklin and James Richards; and one sister, Reba Grace Roberts. Survivors include: four children, Brenda Curtis and her husband Gary, Ricky Garland and his wife Mary, Billy Garland and Roger Garland; four brothers, Johnny Richards, Ernie Richards, Don Richards and Leroy Bowman; nine grandchildren, Teddy Curtis and his wife Hope, Dustin Curtis and his wife Allie, Gary W. Curtis, Brittany Curtis and Cody, Cody Curtis and his wife Sarah, Chasity Kilgore and her husband Brandon, Whitney Garland, Michelle Sommers and her husband Joe and Becky Suggs; and 15 great grandchildren. The family would like to especially thank Mountain States Hospice for their care. The family of Christine Garland will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Morris-Baker. The funeral will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Doug Wagner officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 AM to go in procession to Garland Family Cemetery for 11:00 AM graveside services with Pastor James Bennett officiating. Family and friends may visit the home at 161 Tucker Lane, Johnson City, at any time.
