Clara Renfro Fillers, 81, 309 Roosevelt Street, died Monday October 8, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. Fillers was a Mitchell County, NC native and had lived in Johnson City since 1943. She was a daughter of the late James H. and Daisy Hopson Renfro. Her husband, Allen Lee Fillers, preceded Mrs. Fillers in death. She was an active member of East Pine Grove Park United Methodist Church, serving many years as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, a volunteer at Gods Corner, and a member of the Ida Saylor Circle and the United Methodist Women. Survivors include one son, Roger Fillers and his wife Brenda, Jonesborough; one brother, Jimmy Renfro and his wife, Mildred, Spring Hill, FL; three grandchildren, Tanya Tisor and her husband, Mike, Jonesborough, Leanne Sanders, and her husband, Pete, Jonesborough and Andrea Dykes and her husband, Jeremy, Telford; three great grandchildren, Isabelle Tisor, Isaiah Tisor and Zoe Sanders; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Fillers; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Fillers and Shirley Street and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mrs. Fillers will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, October 11, 2007 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Lon Tobin, Reverend Hagan McClellan and Reverend Jeremy Dykes will officiate. Graveside services and entombment will be held at 11 AM Friday at Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bobby Fillers, Bryan Fillers, Jimmie Fillers, Andrew Fillers, Jerome Palmer, Robbie Rupert, Gary Mosier and John Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Fillers, George Orren and Gary Renfro. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to East Pine Grove Park United Methodist Church, 2215 E. Unaka Ave. Johnson City, TN 37601. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Caris Hospice, Cancer Outreach, the 5200 wing of the Johnson City Medical Center, her special friend, Cordy McDaniel and special caregiver, Nyoka Allison and all her many friends.
