Clarence (Bill) W. Bralley Jr., was born in Johnson City, TN, on Sunday, September 7, 1941, to the late Clarence W. Bralley and Nancy Wolfe Bralley.
A lifelong City resident and Methodist, Bill died of a heart attack on Sunday, August 26, 2024, While on a hike. He is survived by a sister, Anne B. Reel of Jonesborough, TN, and several cousins.
Bill was educated in the city schools, finishing at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, and next earning a B.S. from the University of Kentucky.
Bill pursued a variety of interests. He was a black belt in karate and held a private pilot’s license. He enjoyed fraternity life and competed in college shooting matches. He planned a teaching career.
With so much to live for, Bill developed schizophrenia, and it destroyed his life, despite his continuing struggles to overcome it.
Bill’s cremated remains will be interred in the family plot at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Date to be determined.
