Clarence E. Lewis

Mr. Clarence E. 'Whitey'? Lewis, 93, of Johnson City, died February 11, 2012, at his home. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Jesse E. and Sarah Elizabeth Gentry Lewis. Whitey served in the US Army, a member of Buffalo Valley Christian Church, and was a 50-year member of Rhea Lodge, # 47. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Inez Moore Lewis; brothers, Arthur, Wyndom, Oscar, Issac, Albert, Fred, Emory, and Mack Lewis; and three sisters, Pearl Lewis, Minnie Williams, and Beulah Miller. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Ferguson and husband Clarence and daughter Peggy L. Smith and Randy Hutton; grandson, Michael Ferguson and Melinda Maiden; and special friends, Betty Rutherford and Herb and Lena Lewis. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, February 14, 2012, 4-6:00pm, at Morris Baker Funeral Home. Services will be held, Tuesday, February 14, 2012, 6:00pm, at Morris Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Mr. Bob Allen. Masonic Rites will be presented at this time. The committal service will be held, 1:00pm Wednesday, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet there. Honorary Pallbearers will be Men of Buffalo Valley Christian Church. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Valley Christian Church, 111 Buffalo Valley Church Road, Johnson City, TN 37601.
