Clem Douglas Yates

Clem Douglas Yates, 65, of Johnson City, passed away Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a long illness. He was a native and lifelong Johnson City resident, and a son of the late James Cecil and Nancy Julina Waycaster Yates. He was also preceded in death by one son, James Douglas Yates. Mr. Yates retired from Crowder R. V. after 33 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include; his life partner and her son, Gail Potter and Wesley; four children, Randy Yates of Gray, Rusty Yates of Marion, VA, Angela Yates of Gray and Amanda Miller and her husband, Brian of Gray; 1 sister, his loving sister, Charlotte Burleson and her husband, Lyman of Johnson City; his loving grandson, Brandon Yates; five granddaughters, Hannah Yates, Krista Miller, Andrea Miller and Olivia Yates. Graveside services will be conducted from the Washington County Memory Gardens on Thursday, February 26, 2009. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the funeral home.
