Clifford H. Maddox, 89, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at The Waters of Johnson City. He was born May 22, 1928 in Clay City, IL. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Clifford H. Maddox, Sr. and Mary M. Maddox; one brother, Harold Cox; and one sister, Jeanne Sparling. Clifford was an Illinois native and moved to Johnson City in 1987. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a graduate of McKendree College, Lebanon, IL. He was employed in banking as a bank examiner for the State of Illinois and Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He also held various positions with four banks in Northern Illinois. He retired from The Harvard State Bank, Harvard, IL, in 1983, as President, Trust Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing golf and tennis for over 50 years. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include: his loving wife of 38 years, Lois Maddox, of Johnson City; three daughters, Rebecca Bonville, of Flora, IL, Cynthia Kelaher, of Prescott, AZ, and Marcia Goodchild, of Largo, FL; five grandchildren, Shawn Bonville, Jeremy Pranga, Katie McFarlane, Molly Goodchild and Sam Goodchild; and two great granddaughters, Olivia McFarlane and Emily McFarlane. There will be no visitation services at Clifford?s request. A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are requested to meet there at 1:50 PM.
