Clinton Russell Martin

Mr. Clinton Martin, 81, 285 Possum Hollow Road, Gray died Sunday April 5, 2009 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Martin was a native of Washington County who had lived in Lake City, TN for thirty years. He was the son of the late Jesse and Fannie Isenburg Martin. In addition to his parents one brother, Jesse Martin, Jr, also preceded him in death. Mr. Martin retired from Y-12 Union Carbide in Oak Ridge, Tn. as a Maintenance Coordinator. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea. He was a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife of fifty-six years Lilly Martin of the home; one son, Rusty Martin and his wife Lynette of Knoxville; three daughters, Nina Johnson and her husband Russell of Gray, Linda Owsley and her husband Mark of Lake City, Tn. and Vondee Martin of Biloxi, Mississippi; one brother, Arthur 'Dooley'? Martin of Gray; three sisters, Mary Phillips of Watauga, Alice Estepp of Telford and Judy Keeney of Kingsport; six grandchildren, Ruthie Fann, Toni Mathe, Nicole Steele, Garrett Martin, Sabrina Thompson and Alex Thompson; eleven great grandchildren. The funeral service for Mr. Clinton Martin will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday April 7, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Richie Honeycutt and Rev. Joe Beaver will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Wednesday in the Highland Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:15 AM Wednesday to go in procession. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Gravel Hill Baptist Church, 504 Boone Station Road, Gray, Tn. 37615.
