Clotele E. Burleson

Clotele E. Burleson, 88, 400 N. Boone Street, Johnson City died Thursday, April 20, 2006 in the Asbury Place. Mrs. Burleson was a native of Bulls Gap, TN and had lived in Johnson City since 1936. She was a daughter of the late Robert Franklin and Jennie Ellenburg Eason. Mrs. Burleson was a homemaker and had attended Bob Jones College and E.T.S.U. Mrs. Burleson was a member of the Central Baptist Church and the Margaret McNees Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Monday Club. Clotele was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed playing for the church activities and the Asbury functions. She is preceded in death by: her husband, Jack Jennings Burelson in 1991; one son George Kent Burleson; a sister-in-law, Pauline Miller. Survivors include: one daughter, Gail Christian Burleson of the home; One sister, Evelyn E. Ramsey of Deltone, FL; one aunt, Sudie Ellenburg; four nieces, Julia Miller Grover, Parolea McCampbell York, Elizabeth Ann McCampbell Hill, Penny Galloway Wolfe; two nephews and spouses, Stanley and Lisa Ramsey, Gary and Ann Ramsey; one cousin, Birdie E. Long and husband Jonathan; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Rhea Galloway and Mrs. Gladys McCampbell. A graveside funeral service for Clotele E. Burleson will be conducted at 3 PM Sunday, April 23, 2006 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Rev. R. William 'Bill' Warfield will officiate. Everyone wishing to attend the service should meet at the cemetery at 2:50 PM. Sunday. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials gifts be sent to the Central Baptist Church, Building Fund, 300 N. Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601 or to Dawn of Hope, Inc., 500 E. Oakland Ave, Johnson City,TN 37601. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Bernice Miller for her time and dedication in the care of Mrs. Burleson.
