Conley Harold 'Pete' Peters, Sr., 67, of 120 Potter Road, Jonesborough, died Monday, January 22, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Johnson County but had lived most of his life in Johnson City, son of the late Hubert and Ona Stout Peters. Pete was a retired truck driver and had most recently worked for the Fredrickson Trucking Company. He was of Baptist faith and had attended the Sinking Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Peters and a grandson, Adam. Survivors include: his wife, Leveda Mae Peters of the home, a son, Conley Harold Peters, Jr. of Georgia; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Tracy Brummitt of Bristol; a step-son, Danny Arney and his wife, Carol of Elizabethton; a step-daughter, Kathleen Bennett of Watagua; a brother, Carroll Peters of Georgia; a sister-in-law, Betty Peters of Gray; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and two special longtime friends, Gerald McInturff and Stanley Whittington. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 24, 2007 in the North Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home at 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Rev. Reece Harris. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted in the Mausoleum Chapel of the Washington County Memory Gardens on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
