Cordeila Elizabeth 'Libby'? Holbrook went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 15, 1946 in Watauga, TN. She was a daughter of the late, Walter Bruce Marshall and Alma Dove Marshall. She was also preceded in death by her beloved brother, Walter Bruce Marshall, Jr. and infant sister, Loretta Marshall. She had lived most of her life in Johnson City and graduated from Science Hill High School and attended ETSU. Ms. Holbrook worked in the automobile business for over 45 years. She retired as comptroller for Johnson City Honda, due to health issues in April 2010. She was a dedicated and active member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church.She is survived by one sister in law, Janice Marshall, her cousins, Nancy Rush and Barbara Scott. She leaves behind her dog, 'Precious'? her constant companion. Also many close personal friends who loved her and will miss their dear friend 'Libby.'?Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Wednesday, May 25, 2011 from the Grace Free Will Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Curtis Hurt. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 until 7:00 pm prior to the service. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and employees of Johnson City Honda. Burial will be held at 10:00 am Thursday in Oak Hill Cemetery in Johnson City. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and leave by 9:30 am Thursday for the cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Libbys honor to the American Cancer Society or Grace Free Will Baptist Church.
