'Lord, when my soul takes flight, may it rise swiftly to live forever in your love and care.' Cynthia Lynn Hopson Widner, 39, Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 13, 2014, following a long illness. Cynthia was a Johnson City native and a daughter of William Robert Hopson and Brenda Sue Grindstaff Hopson. She was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. Cynthia worked as a collections representative with AT&T for several years. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, survivors include: her husband, Robert Widner; one daughter, Hannah Breann Hopson-Ledford; two sisters, Tina Michelle Hopson and Toni Renea Smith; niece and nephews, Sarah Holly, William Wagner, and Jordan Wagner; special friend, Matt Byrd; and her beloved pet chihuahua, Bella. The family of Cynthia Widner will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Saturday, July 19, 2014 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. A memorial service will follow in the North Chapel at 7 PM Saturday. Rev. Mike Pelham will officiate.
