Daniel Owens

Danny Owens, 63, of 715 Nathaniel Court, Johnson City, died at his residence on Thursday, December 30, 2010. He was a native of Washington County, son of the late Robert F. and Laura Etta Winters Owens. Danny was a security guard and was a longtime member of the University Parkway Baptist Church. He was in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Joyce Dunn in 2006. Survivors include: three brothers, James L. Owens and his wife, Bobbie of Johnson City, Ernest L. Owens and his special friend, Linda of Gray and Michael E. Owens and his wife Diane of Johnson City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bettie L. and Charles Gilley and Patsy K. and Ross Abel all of Johnson City; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 5, 2010 at Mountain Home National Cemetery, at 2:00 p.m. under the direction Rev. Gil Moody. Military honors to be accorded by the Boone Dam VFW and Tennessee National Guard. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. There will be no public visitation. Family and friends are asked to assemble at Morris '? Baker in order to go in procession by 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2010.
