Danny Eugene Miller, age 66 of Johnson City, Tennessee went home to be with The Lord on September 28, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 17, 1958 in Johnson City to the late Pierce and Evelene Miller. He retired from the City of Johnson City in 2009, and assumed the role of full time "Pawpaw" in 2011. Danny was a devoted son and brother, and loved his family more than anything. He was a man of God and his life was an example of that. Danny will be remembered as a loving Husband, Father and Pawpaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierce and Evelene Miller, sisters, Judy Emmert and Loura Honeycutt, brothers, Pierce Lynn "Moochie" Miller and Greg Miller.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 39 years, Hazel Miller, daughter, Rebecca (Andrew) Halverson of Glade Spring, Virginia, son, Daniel (Rachel) Miller; granddaughter, Zoey Trotter, and bonus grandchildren, Rylar, Jasmine, Ellie, and Liam Halverson; sisters, Rita (James) Trivett of Camden, South Carolina, Tina (Richard) Burleson, brother, Charlie (Donna) Miller, and brothers-in-law, Gordon Emmert and Larry Honeycutt, as well a loving aunt, Charlotte Feathers, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Last but not least his faithful four legged companion, Roscoe.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Everyone is invited to meet at the Mausoleum in Washington County Memory Gardens for a graveside service on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Brother Steven Wilson officiating.
Active Pall Bearers will be Matt Wicker, Hunter Smith, Andrew Halverson, Scott Oliver, Steven Waltermyer, and Nelson Turner. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Dakota Kellner, Tony Smith, and Junior Hale.
