Darrell Wayne Hicks

Darrell Wayne Hicks, 36, of 40 Town Square Apartments, Johnson City died Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Darrell was a native of Avery County, North Carolina and is a son of Wayne H. and Mae Garrison Hicks of Erwin. He was of the Jehovah Witness faith. He was a maintenance manager at the Town Square Apartments. Darrell is preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, Berl Harrison and his Paternal Grandfather, Carl Hicks. In addition to his parents, he is survived by: one sister, Angela Marie Hicks of Erwin; his Maternal Grandmother, Pauline Harrison of Salisbury, NC; his Paternal Grandmother, Louella Hicks of Morganton, NC; several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. The family of Darrell Wayne Hicks will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6 to 8 PM Monday, July 12, 2010. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday, July 13,2010 in the Gynn Cemetery in Avery County, NC. Mr. Jay McAninch will officiate. Everyone will meet at the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Childrens Miracle Network in Darrells memory.
