David Aaron Murphy, 36, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Jonesborough. David was born in Queens, New York. He was a son of James E. Murphy and Yvette Font. David was educated with the Johnson City school system, graduating from Science Hill High School in 1996. He completed his education in 2013, receiving his BS in Psychology from ETSU. David loved his family. He also loved nature and hiking. More than anything, David loved the spirit of God. He was preceded in death by: paternal grandparents, Robert L. Murphy, Jr. and Anna Delores Murphy; maternal grandparents, Eduardo I. Font and Maria S. Font; and uncle, Ronald B. Murphy. Survivors include: father, James E. Murphy (Libby); mother, Yvette Font; five brothers, Sean C. Murphy, Paul R. Price, Jonathan S. Murphy, Solomon D. Murphy, and Ishmael N. Murphy; his Mea? and PawDaddy, Barbara and Richard Watterson; girlfriend, Melanie Kirk and her children, Brandon and Sydney; uncle, Edwin Font; special aunt, Cynthia Font; nephew, Tyrique R. Price; nieces, Zion I. Price and Nadia A. Price; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family of David Aaron Murphy will receive friends from 5 pm until 6:30 pm Saturday, June 20, 2015 in the Morris-Baker Dogwood Chapel. A service will follow at 6:30 pm Saturday in the chapel.
