David E Aldridge

May 26, 1938 — July 11, 2015

David E. Aldridge, 77, Johnson City, passed away peacefully at Johnson City Medical Center with his loving wife, Brenda, caring daughter and granddaughter at his side. He is the son of the late James T. and Aretta Vanderberg Aldridge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard traveling to various countries across the globe, such as, India, Japan, Australia, and Morocco. David was a 32nd degree Mason member of Unicoi Masonic Lodge and Shriners organization. He is a member of Munsey Memorial Methodist Church. He especially enjoyed his Sunday School Class the Philosophers. He was an avid waterfall hiker and amateur photographer. Dave loved the mountains of East Tennessee and was dedicated to the restoration of Buffalo Mountain Camp. He and Brenda enjoyed biking rail trails up and down the east coast. Dave is a former bio medical engineer and retired employee of Fisher Scientific. Dave was former owner of Scientific Instrument Services. He was instrumental in developing the first ISO 9000 system in this country to be compatible with European Standards. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Brenda; daughter, Debra Aldridge; granddaughter, Jamie, and her husband Tony Williams; brother and sister-in-law, JC and Mary Ann of Schaumburg, IL; great grandchildren, Milly and Porter of Kingsport; step daughter, April, and her husband Andrew Pepin, and their children, Savannah and Sophie of Mount Holly, NC; and many friends. The family of David Aldridge will receive friends from10:00 AM -12:00 PM Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Munsey Memorial Methodist Church with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Mark Gooden officiating. Family and friends will go in procession to Mountain Home National Cemetery for a 1:45 PM committal service.
