David Kent Forrester, 76, of Chuckey, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022.
He was born on June 24, 1945 in Abilene, Texas. He was a 1965 graduate of Elizabethton High School. David was the son of the late Ross Forrester and Dovie Monteen Forrester.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by an infant sister, Pamela Sue Forrester, and a niece, Holly Jessica Lilly.
Those left to cherish David’s memory are: sister, Mary Nell Forrester Lilly; niece, Ashley Cutshall; two great nieces, Jasmine Lilly and Coraline Cutshall; great nephew, Brayden Cutshall, and many friends.
David was active in many community activities throughout his life. He attended Central Church of Christ for over 60 years. He was a member of the Central Volunteer Fire Department, the American Saddlebred Association, and the 4H Club. He also worked making helmets at Volunteer Blind Industry.
David had a special rapport with animals. He owned dogs, cats, goats, chickens, hamsters and guinea pigs. Although David loved all animals, he was particularly fond of horses. David spent his 30 year career working with saddle bred horses at Millercrest Stable. He owned saddle bred horses and frequently participated in competitions where he won numerous trophies and ribbons. David also won the state championship at the Knoxville Fair with his horse, Jocker’s Bottom (Honey)!
David was assisted in his daily living by Sunrise Services. A special thank you to Tiffany, Kara, Misty, Chloe, A.J., Gen, Tyler, and Debbie: for the kindness, compassion, and willingness to make sure David had laughter and opportunities to share stories about his animals every day.
