Mrs. Deana Hawkins Richey, age 41, of Johnson City, passed away, Thursday, February 16, 2012 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Richey was a native of Homestead, Florida who had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She is the daughter of the late Jimmy Dean Hawkins and Susan Tipton Hawkins and Walter F. Whaley. In addition to her father her husband, Larry Richey, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Richey graduated from Rock Creek Elementary School in Erwin and attended Liberty Bell Middle School and graduated from Science Hill High School. She was an account manager for Citi-Group. Survivors include: one brother, Aaron Adam Hawkins of Johnson City; one uncle, Gordon Ray Tipton of Seiling, Oklahoma; two aunts, Sara Hayes and Sue Isenburg both of Johnson City; several cousins in the Johnson City area; special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Moore, Peggy Shuffler, Debbie Doan, Rametha Loving and Uzoma Alu. The graveside service for Mrs. Deana Hawkins Richey will be conducted at 3 PM Monday, February 20, 2012 in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Her brother, Aaron Adam Hawkins, will provide the eulogy. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 PM Monday at Morris-Baker prior to the service.
