Debbie Kay Harold, age 68 of Jonesborough, Tennessee went to her eternal home with The Lord on the early morning of Sunday, June 16, 2024.
She attended Lamar High School, and following high school, she earned her Associate's Degree from Draughon's Junior College in Business Administration. Debbie was a co-owner of Spud's Termite and Pest Control and Jim's Heating and Cooling. She was also a crewette with the Jonesborough Rescue Squad, office manager for the International Storytelling Center and Manna Group (Perkins Family Restaurants), a nursing assistant at Appalachian Christian Village, and retired from BrightRidge, formerly known as Johnson City Power Board, in 2016. She was an active member of Bethesda Methodist Church.
Debbie loved being outdoors, especially working in her flower garden, yard and fish pond. She was always quick to help anyone in need, hardworking, quick-witted, and loved to laugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Ruth Harold, sister, Audrey Whitaker, and daughter, Virgina "Beth" Dillow.
Debbie is survived by son, Brad (Veronica) Shaw; grandchildren, John (Kayla) Dillow, Cynthia (Nick) Patterson, Cameron Shaw, and Christian Shaw; great-grandchildren, Calvary and Ezekiel Dillow, and Noah and Neyland Patterson; sister, Donna (Ken) Duncan, brothers, Jeff Harold, Joe (Judy) Harold, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Last, but not least, her furry companion, Riley.
The family would like to thank Brenda Sparks who was a special lifelong friend and caregiver who was more like family to Debbie, and the nurses at the Cancer Center and with Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 11:00 am at Bethesda Methodist Church Cemetery, with Scott Thompson officiating. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am.
Active Pallbearers will be Jim Buchanan, John Dillow, Nick Patterson, Chris Whitaker, Lewis Whitaker, and James "Bo" Whitaker. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff and Joe Harold.
