Deborah Carol Cox, age 67, of Johnson City, Tennessee, died Sunday, January 12, 2020 in Johnson City.
Deborah was born on May 31, 1952 to Charles Edgar Keys and Georgia Lee Honeycutt Keys in Johnson City.
Deborah attended services at Freewill Baptist churches over the years, under the direction of Rev. Jackie Cole.
She obtained her nursing license and worked as an LPN until her retirement. Even after retirement, Deborah continued to care for the needs of others by providing home health care to seniors. She was a natural caregiver in all aspects of her life. She took great joy in baking and preparing meals for her family. Gardening was also a passion of hers.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father and a brother, James Steven Keys.
She is survived by her mother; daughter, Cynthia (and Tyson) Milligan; fiancé, Mark Greer; brothers, Gregory Brent Keys and Charles Jeffrey Keys; grandchildren, Abigail, Noah, Logan, and Sarah; and several nieces and nephews.
Deborah’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow, under the direction of Rev. Jackie Cole. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church (687 Pleasant Grove Road, Limestone, Tennessee 37813). Please meet at the funeral home by 10:00 a.m. to leave for the cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the family.
