Dena E. Neufer Bolton, of Johnson City, departed this life on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, in the Indian Path Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Kingsport, Tennessee, on October 5, 1952, a daughter of the late Clair E. and Edna K. Neufer. She is survived by her husband, Rick Bolton, of Johnson City, TN; one son, Michael Shawn King, of Bristol, VA; one daughter, Kerrie E. King Davis, of Johnson City, TN; one granddaughter, Sara Deane Cross, of Johnson City, TN; two step children, Holly Bolton Rainey and J. Matthew Bolton and four step grandchildren; one niece, Desiree Linkous Chambers; and one nephew, Johnny Linkous. Mrs. Bolton was a graduate of East Tennessee State University and an ardent lover of gardening of which she wrote numerous articles as a freelance writer. Her love for gardening was only over shadowed by the love she had for her family and friends. The Lord has in His arms a precious angel who shall tend her garden from heaven where we are her flowers that she shall continue to nurture and grow. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Denas life at the home of her daughter, Kerrie Davis, 2001 Michael Drive, Johnson City, TN, Tuesday evening, February 15, 2011, between the hours of 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
