Dennis Clinton Carder, 72, Jonesborough, went to be with his Lord and Jesus Christ April 15, 2016. He fought the fight, kept the faith, and won the race. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a member of Cherokee Community Freewill Baptist Church. Also, he worked for twenty years in masonry stonework in the Tri-Cities area. He was preceded in death by: his father and mother, Allen and Edith Walker Carder; one brother, David Carder; and one sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Jim Watson. He leaves behind a loving wife of 20 years, Wanda Woodfin Carder; two daughters, Angie Carder and Tobie and Roy Hall; three stepsons, whom he though of as his own, James and Diane Freeman, Anthony and Amber Freeman, and Tommy Thompson, Jr.; three brothers: Kenneth and Linda Carder, Joe and Kathy Carder and Jim and Belva Carder; two granddaughters, Cierra Stroupe and Ashley butler; one step granddaughter, Kayla and Brandon Hill; three grandsons, Kobe and Christian Butler, and Ronnie Hall; three step grandsons, Alex Freeman and fianc?, Molly, Tommy Thompson III, and Abram Freeman; one step great grandson, Nehemiah Hill; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends at church. The family of Dennis Carder will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Morris-Baker. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM with Rev. Charlie Byrd, Rev. David Montgomery, and Kenneth Carder officiating. Pallbearers will be: Jason and Josh Carder, Robert Holman, Brian Clough, and Jerry and Nathan Montgomery. Honorary pallbearers include: Raymond Laws, John Montgomery and Frankie Barham. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Monday to go in procession to Cherokee Community Freewill Baptist Cemetery. The family would like to say thank you for all the prayers and phone calls.
