Diane L. Judy, of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at her residence. She was a native of Galion, Ohio, daughter of the late Boyd and Mariam Brown Gates. Diane was a counselor and teacher at Boones Creek Middle School until she retired in 2009. She was a member of the Gray United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a niece, Melissa Woods. Diane was a graduate of East Tennessee State University, having a B.S. degree in education, a M.E.D. in counseling and M.A.T. in storytelling. She loved storytelling, raising dogs, family was always #1 especially her grandchildren, camping and being with her students, no child in her school went without Christmas. Survivors include: her husband, James Judy of Johnson City, TN; two sons and daughters-in-law, Shawn and Vicki Judy of Johnson City, Keith and Wanda Judy of Johnson City; two daughters, Niki Judy of Pawleys Island, SC and Christy Judy of Dawn of Hope, Johnson City, TN; four grandchildren, Griffin Judy, Allyson Judy, Amanda Judy and Kennedi Judy; a brother, Daryl Gates of Marion, OH; three sisters, Phyllis McEllhaten of Crestline, OH, Jane Elliot of Deleware, OH and Barbara Reid of Indianapolis, IN; her goddaughter, Cheri Bunker of Gray, TN; several nieces and nephews; a special friend and caregiver, Barbara Johnson of Raleigh, NC. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, November 22, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gray United Methodist Church, under the direction of Rev. Jodie Ihfe. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church. A committal service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be: Ricky Runion, Les Lyons, Dwayne Forney, Joey Woods, Jon Herrmann and Leroy Hawkins. Family and friends are asked to assemble at Morris '?
