Donald Earl Hixson

Donald 'Don'? Earl Hixson, 85, of Johnson City, died Wednesday, June 29 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Virginia, son of the late Edward and Rachel Barbee Hixson. Don was an electrician who retired from Holston Defense a subsidiary of Tennessee Eastman Company. Don was a veteran of WWII having served in the Pacific Theater in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM. Don attended the Heritage Baptist Church. In addition to his parents a brother and sister-in-law, J. C. and Beaulah Hixson and two stepsons, James B. and Jerry Dean McLemore, preceded him in death. Survivors include: his wife, Pat Hixson of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Donnie Lynn and Mary Hixson of Egan, Minnesota; three step-sons and their wives, Steven Lee and Lisa McLemore of Asheville, NC, Jeffery A. and Susie McLemore of Greensboro, NC, Roger Dale and Beth McLemore of Acworth, GA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, July 3, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Dr. Steve McLemore and Dr. Reggie Weems. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m. Special music will be provided by, Ken Hecht, Dr. Steve McLemore and his wife Lisa. A committal service will be conducted at 3:15 p.m. at the Monte Vista Memorial Park under the direction of Dr. Lewis O. Bartlett. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to: Feed the Children, P. O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101 or www.feedthechildren.org.
