Donald James Sheasby

Mr. Donald James Sheasby, 84, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Sheasby was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the son of the late James and Mildred Norman Sheasby. He graduated from Chicago Technical College and lived in Chicago for fourteen years. He also resided in Raleigh, NC and Humbolt, TN before moving to Washington County in 1979. Mr. Sheasby was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and a lifetime member of the VFW. He worked as an electrical engineer for North Electric before his retirement. Mr. Sheasby loved football, especially his hometown team, the New Orleans Saints. Survivors include: his wife of sixty-one years, Ester Ena Sheasby, of the home; two daughters, Donna E. Moore and Andrea M. Weider and her husband Frank; one son, Norman Sheasby and his wife Mary Ann; One brother, James Sheasby, Jr. and family; one sister, Jean Sterken and family; three grandchildren, Eric Sheasby, Angela Carlson and Pamela Orvis; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family of Mr. Donald James Sheasby will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2015, in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1 PM Thursday in the St. Mary?s Catholic Church. Father Julian Cardona will officiate. The graveside committal service will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Mary?s Catholic Church, 2211 E. Lakeview Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601 or American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601.
