Donnie Patricia Corby

Donnie Patricia Corby, age 70, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
 
Donnie was a selfless woman. A loving and special mom, grandmother, aunt and friend. Donnie touched everyone’s life she encountered. She always left you better than she found you. Her love, light and unconditional love will live on forever in those that were blessed to have known her and be loved by her. She was always dependable, loving and down for any adventure. 

She was an avid crab fisherman and loved the South Carolina beaches. She was so loved and cherished by people from the mountains to the coast.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Linn and Helen Corby; siblings: Pat, Gale, and Debbie Corby; Linda (Tom) Carr; step granddaughter: Mackenzie Bardo; special nephew, Jason Carr; special son-in-law, Billy Campbell; and the love of her life, Gary Carr.
 
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Gaye (David) Durst; stepchildren: Stacy (Adolfo Legardo) Delcruz, Jessica (Travis) Parker, Shane (Ashley) Bardo, and Gary (Angel) Carr; grandchildren: Courtney (Kyle) Abercrombie, Jaxson Durst; great-grandchildren: Melonie, Dylan, Gracie Abercrombie; step-grandchildren: Travis (Candace) Campbell, Jack (Lisa) Campbell, Suzy (Chris) South, Lisa (Josh) Campbell, Shelby (James) Reed, Nolan, Kaydance, and Dominic Durst; Jaydah, Arionah Delapaz; Destany Sanders; Dixie, Travis Jr. and Waylon Parker and Timothy Carr; Brystol, Harley, and Chaz Myers; Shalynn, Bella, and Landon Bardo; an aunt; Wilma "Winkie" (Joe) Hamlet; cousins: Ricky Hamlet, Tony (Cindy) Hamlet, and Tyril Reeves Simmerman; a special niece who was her like her daughter, Mandy (Kyle) Myers; and a very special sister-in-law, Sheila Bradshaw; special friends: Rose Boring, Shianne Pappas, Cathy Guire, and Lisa Sampson; and several other cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
 
Donnie’s family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home with a funeral following at 7:00 pm. The committal service will commence the following day, at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 2, at Philadelphia Cemetery in Limestone. Those attending the committal service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 pm.
