Mrs. Donnie Bell Farmer Hawkins, 89, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Unicoi County, she was the daughter of the late Joel Fred and Annis May Hensley Farmer. Donnie enjoyed traveling and camping with friends and family and was a devoted member of Boones Creek Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Sam G. Hawkins; two sons, Charles 'Lenny'? Hawkins and Roger Dale Hawkins; and one brother Kenneth Farmer. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth 'Geri'? Hodges and husband Donald; six grandchildren, Kimberly Milhorn McEwen and husband Mike, Tracy Milhorn Burleson and husband Chance, Greg Hawkins and wife Cindy, Mark Hawkins, Benny Hawkins and wife Sheena, and Jada Hawkins Bowman and husband Andy; nine great grandchildren, Tyler McEwen and wife McKenzi, Cara McEwen, Carley McEwen, Walker Burleson, Kelsey Bowman, Kayla Bowman, Erica Hawkins, Megan Hawkins, Hayley Hawkins; three sisters, Lilly Martin, Velma Fender, and Sybil Shipley, and two brothers, Brady Farmer, and Robert 'Bob'? Farmer. Memorials may be made to Boones Creek Christian Church, Building Fund, 305 Christian Church Rd Gray, TN 37615-4504 The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00pm, Wednesday, at Boones Creek Christian Church. Services will be held at 6:00pm, Wednesday, immediately following visitation, with Rev. Dick Morris officiating. Burial will be held, Thursday, 11am, at Boones Creek Christian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Greg, Mark, and Benny Hawkins, Mike and Tyler McEwen, Chance and Walker Burleson, and Andy Bowman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mrs. Hawkinss nephews. Pianist: J.C. Milhorn and music by friends of the family.
